New washing machine does battle with bacteria

Samsung says their new Silver Nano Health System (aka washing machine)  will not only get rid of stains but also bacteria.  In fact they say 99.9 per cent of bacteria will go down the drain including the dreaded e.coli.

Here’s how it works. Before the cold water hits the clothes, it passes through silver electrodes producing teeny silver ions. These “nano” sized ions then glom onto bacteria and prevent it from reproducing. Then in the rinse cycle, the clothes get another dose of silver ions that coats the clothing and keeps any future bacteria from reproducing for up to 30 days. The health industry has been aware that a form of silver called colloidal silver is even better at debugging the bugs than antibiotics.

So if you can pony up $1400 you may make up the extra dollars in saved doctor’s bills,  decreased energy bills (no hot water necessary), and even wear and tear on your clothing. You don’t have to be as OC as Monk to appreciate truly clean clothing!
