Dyson DC28 today on HSN... And if you missed the show it's online at HSN

Hello Ace:

Checked the entire HSN programming schedule for Monday [7/27] and Tuesday [7/28] nothing scheduled for dysons.

I watched the HSN clip.  Takes about 25 minutes.  Very disappointing demoes and pitches.  Gone are the grandiose praises of dyson sales.  Dave had difficulty with picking up some of the materials he spread on th carpets.  Boasting one pass pick up and after several passes w/o luck said the materials must have "static charge."  Welcome to the real world Dave.

He cheated on the dirt bin for the demoes.  After picking up peanuts and popcorn with the attachments to the max fill [supposedly], he went w/o dumping the bin to the carpets.  Look closely.  The bin contents were not close to the max line.  Way below.  Obviously the fall off in air watts on this model require the fudging.

Dave couldn't get the bare floor clean under the HSN chair in the upright mode.  So for demo purposes had to convert to attachments and resort to the flat out tool.  ORECK would have gotten under in a heart beat.  He says dyson can't get 'low profile' cleaning in upright mode.  Truth be told from seeing is that is not low profile for most of today's uprights.  HOOVER TEMPO would have gotten it just as easily as an ORECK.  WT too.

Helen [a new lovely HSN face/personality] made some errors.  Says this dyson technology is new and exclusive to HSN.  Not quite Helen.  It's been in BEST BUY stores for over a month.  Dave didn't correct her?  That's your job Dave.  You are the dyson man.  [Tho these are not selling from what I hear].  She repeated the error several times.  Dave let her go.  Shame on you.

Helen made it clear that this is not the HSN launch for DC28.  She said HSN is trying to sell some first so when it does launch [no time given by Dave and Helen]  there will be some callers in with product affirmations.  No more can they use the old dyson stand bys.  Dave makes it clear this airmuscle technology is exclusive to this dyson product.  There were no call ins today and no sales made.  None.   Price: 4 flex payments of $149 with free shipping.  $599.

Poster's opinion:  Dyson Dave lost his dyson zeal.  He needs to go.

Several on-line dyson dealers are already discounting the DC28 at $529.  One is posting on the side banner here on this page.  That won't sit well with the claims of HSN's exclusive status especially with HSN pricing at $599.  Let the dyson dealer price wars begin!

Sounds like two Daves are peddling inferior products.

Dave is not the problem.  He has great enthusiasm, he has a great history to draw from (and tell) of selling door-to-door hyped and expensive vacuums.  He is a James Dyson fan and supporter of better inventions.  He should stay as long as this keeps coming thru!  His integrity is far and above that of Hoover’s Julie Truster.   He’s far more knowledgeable and enthusiastic than the Bissell rep too.  Of the three-Dyson, Hoover and Bissell...  Dave is the best.  The Dyson corp and messaging is run from the top down like many corps.  Dave (an HSN rep) is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the Dyson messaging, he is responsible for delivering this Dyson messaging.  Dyson is not even broadcasting (messaging) and celebrating their worlds only and worlds best separation technologies-the DDM w/ Core + Root separators.  Having a separator vacuum with 4-7 years of guaranteed no-clogging filtration is HUGE and UNTOUCHABLE BY COMPETITORS, yet Dyson isn’t exploiting it.

You're not honest.  You must have watched the HSN video with dyson color glasses.  The demo was very disappointing and filled with errors and/or outright lies which Dave let pass several times w/o correction.

The reason dyson has eliminated HSN prime view times, TV product spots, and printed product ads is due to MONEY!  He's [dyson] is bleeding cash daily.  He can't afford to pay high priced engineers [average yearly salary of dyson engineers is in the 6 figure numbers], in-house lawyers and for hire lawyers on retainers, unprofitable/ unrealized  R&D costs and advertising expenses too.  Hence dyson products skipped the Oscars and conceded defeat to HOOVER!

Declining vacuum sales and market share globally for the past year and some.  Dave no longer boasts dyson as the top seller in dollar sales as he once did in the past.

The dishonesty and quantity of dishonesty title is yours.  It’s oh so easy and has been oh so easy to disprove your rock-throwing of Dyson claims as unprovable.  It sounds like (reads like) you’re a slave to Dyson-jealousy (a condition of many wannabe garage tinkerer bad mouthing-of-Dyson dealers and enthusiasts).

Feel free to begin backing up your rock-throwing, anti-Dyson diatribes with facts.

Sure [HSN] Dave did and did not say things during his debuting the radically different and new vacuum with its many new technologies, and so what?-It proves nothing.  The late night time-slot debut is mostly practice anyhow.  Nice try.

Thought you practiced before you went on tv......not while your on tv...be cheaper also.  poor demo might affect sales....versus a good demo. ya think?
