The Sears 88799 has a 9hp L-head engine, 29 inch clearing width and 21 inch intake height. It starts easily with the pull start, but I use the electric start most of the time. This is a basic machine that works great in moderate to deep snow. In deeper snow I lock both wheels, and it gets good traction even on a 15 deg incline. It will chomp through up to 2 feet of packed snow in the end of drive with ease, in 1st or 2nd gear. I do most of my snow clearing in 3rd gear.
