Need help finding a manual
Original Message   Dec 27, 2010 2:41 pm
I have been trying for days to find a snowblower manual - without success.

The machine is a Craftsman - made in the USA - sold in Canada by Sears. It's only about 2 or 3 years old.

The model number is 944-527391 (which I suspect is the "Canadian" version model number).

The serial number is 121007M 03579.

The machine is a 27" with an OHV engine. It's a 1350 series with 305cc which I think equates to 10 HP.

It is a "steerable" model and has a "throttle" speed lever as opposed to a 6 slot version.

The machine belongs to my Daughter and the manual was lost in a recent house move.

I'm sure that if I had the "equivalent" American model number I'd be able to locate a manual.....

Failing that, if anyone could suggest a "similar" model, I might get some use out of the manual for that model....

I did a "live" chat with Sears (USA) and that didn't produce any results.

I linked up to a site (Manuals On Line) but because of the Model number was unable to find one or an equivalent..

ANY help, or pointing me in the right direction, would be greatly appreciated.

TIA = Roger

Have continued my efforts to locate a manual - without any success.

Now that the Holiday season is over, I was hoping that a member might be able to offer some assistance....

Even a "close-match" model number would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for ANY assistance = Roger

Have you tried to contact Sears parts department?   They might have a spare manual laying about.

Seems like a Murray based machine. Can you post a few pictures? The dominant features should give it away.

Sears, Noma, Murray, Canadiana are all made the same and most parts are interchangeable.

I have many aftermarket parts listed on my site at

 www.c-equipment.com

or you can check here for a manual

Thanks to y'all for your replies and apologies for delay in resonding....I've not been well of late.

For borat: I did a live chat with Sears some time back and it did not produce any results.

For trouts2: I'll be going to my daughter's house on Monday and will try to get and post some pics...

For PartsMan: I'll give that link you provided a try and see if it produces any results..

For Bill H: sorry for being slow on the uptake but I don't get it ?? I'll attribute that to my age (67) and beg forgiveness..

Again, my thanks to all.....Fortunately, the machine is still working fine and I can do "general" maintenance even without the manual...but I would probably need one to change a belt...

Don't worry about it, it had nothing to do with you, it was directed at the guy who answers every post with the url of his parts business.

ParadiseNfld,

Your machine was made by MTD.  MTD models sold through Sears or in Canada are sometimes orphaned by the MTD and Sears online lookups.  The easiest thing would be to call MTD for a manual.  1-800-269-6215.

Here are some pics that I took of the machine....

If anyone has one that "looks" like this, I'd most appreciate the model number (preferably USA number).

I have a site that I can access manuals from.

Thanks in advance and let's hope th pics work !!

Well - the pics seem to be working...hope I'm using the right format for this forum and apologies if I'm not...
