Emmo Perhaps they will be getting rid of monitors (updating) as well if you do need an apple monitor to go with it? Wouldn't hurt to ask? Paula Good point Paula, the university lists all of the available property and apparantly no apple monitors are currently available. You do bring up a good point about compatability. Hey Apple guys/gals(Nicer than Appleheads! ).......I have an old Gateway that I'm not using, it has a nice 17" monitor and keyboard, do these work on Apples?

Emmo,

Don't even hesitate. $55 is a huge bargain for a G4 equipped the way you specified. I'm assuming no monitor, but for only $200 you can get a sweet one. But beware, not all monitors are PC & Mac compliant, so if you end up disliking the Apple OS, you may be stuck with a beautiful black screen.

--SnowRemover

Congrats Emmo, Sounds like a good deal to me.......... I thought almost all monitors worked with an Apple G4.......just like any monitor would work with a new Mac mini. Tom would know more than I on that. I would want to know what version OS it is running.....OS9 or OS X, although for that price just grab it. Check out other G4 towers on ebay if you are not sure, but for that low price, I'd say grab it. The G5's have only been out for around a year or so......G4's are not by any means "old". I am using a 1 gig G4 imac right now with 768 DDR ram , and I'm sure it will serve my family well for years to come. People keep Mac's longer then PeeCee people do. If you find you like it, perhaps sticking another stick of ram in there would not hurt. The Hard drive is a bit small, but if you are just surfing the web, e-mailing, some word doc's, etc, it should be fine. My son does a lot of video editing and graphic stuff, so he needs a lot of Hard drive space. Any one of those components would cost you more than $55.00 Tom could help you here more then I..... If you don't like it, we'll take it off your hands.... Frank D.
