Need To Vent
Original Message   Feb 21, 2005 12:18 pm
OK, here is the deal. I got my money last week on a saturday. As everybody knows, banks are closed on saturday and sunday. So, I get to wait to days right before I can buy something online, cause I got to get the money in the bank. So the two days go buy. Thinking this Monday is like every other freaken Monday, I set off on my bike for a  2 mile drive to the bank. When I get there, on the window it sais closed! I am like, WTF???

The guy standing at the ATM tells me its presidents day. So naturally I am like, presidents day? Now I got to freaken wait another day before I can order my thing!

You know, it seems that my bank gets off on every freaken holiday there is. Never seem them open on a holiday yet! You know, I don't recall others doing that. Its called real life, look into it. Most people do not get to stay home on every holiday. Some have to work even on Christmas!

Hay, now I feel better. Its a good thing to have friends on the net to vent too. And also, you guys will eb able to give me short stories of problems with your banks. Thanks for viewing and or posting.

Great rules, but I might add another.  10% of my income goes to my tithe.

Termy, giving 10% of your earnings to to God (the church) is called Tithing.

""LEVITICUS 27:30 NKJ
30 `And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's. It is holy to the Lord.

The New Testament says nothing to change God's instruction on tithing. The tithe is holy and still belongs to God.""

Termy, the second part of this is where most of the argument begins on whether to tithe or not. This says the New Testament says nothing to change the Levciticus passage. However, others will argue that since the New Testament says nothing of it, then it was not carried forward on purpose and is therefore not necassary. This will be argued until the end of time. Study and read the bible and find what you believe for yourself.

I am a christian Marshall. The churches I used to go to in the past never heard that word spoken. We all called it donations. Because I never heard that word before, I wonder how you pronounce it?

AJace,
Amen to that.
I did not go there, because I was speaking in the context of money management.

As a christian, I totally believe in the blessing one gets from putting Jesus first in your life, including the areas of Time, Atttitude, and of course money.
When speaking in a secular enviorment, tithing is not the first subject that I bring up, because to the world, tithing looks like a burden, when after you have enjoyed this christian life for a short time, one realizes the blessing of putting God first in your life in ALL things, including your money.

You can tell a lot about a person by looking at his checkbook.  People get all hung up on this tithing thing sometimes.  True stewardship is understanding that if I have given my life to Christ, God owns me and everything I own.......He gives it to me to do as he would with it.  I tithe to show my obedience to Him and to acknowledge Him being first in my life.  I find that when I do this, He blesses me more and more.  He owns it all, and allows me to keep 90%.

God does not need my money, but when I invest 10% of what I have towards His work, and give it joyfully, I'm showing how important His work is to me, and I have found that He has blessed us abundantly for it.

Do all Christians tithe?.........no , they do not. They are missing a blessing.  Some would say they could not afford to.  Personally, I could not afford not to. God does not want anyone to give begrudgingly.  Give what you can give joyfully, pray about it, and if one is earnest about it, you will find that a person cannot outgive God, and that God is looking more for a willing heart then a fat wallet.

Understand that even among Christian circles, this is a volitle subject, and there are easier and more appropreate Biblical subjects that would be more benefitial to discuss in a secular forum.

Anyway, in a nutshell, God wants you before He wants your money.  His salvation is a free gift that cannot be earned by doing good, giving money, or anything but by understanding that it is a free gift.
His Love is unconditional......nothing you do can make Him love you any less, and nothing you do can make Him love you any more then He already does.

Well, time to go to work.  Please excuse the spelling....I'm using Monzilla and it does not have spell  check like Safari does.

Respectfully,
Frank D.

Frank you have a way that I wish I had to describe these things in life.  That was a great explanation, the best I've heard.
You might want to try this site  The Spell Trunk should work, otherwise you probably need to also download the dictionary.  I had a bit of trouble installing mine.
