Eufy HomeVac Lightweight Cordless Upright: Most Asked Questions

Eufy is one of the vacuum manufacturers that focus their efforts on innovation. You can easily notice this trait with its products, such as the Eufy HomeVac Lightweight cordless vacuum.

Eufy, an Anker's subsidiary, is not new to building smart devices that work well together. These modern devices can be connected to a network to improve your experience.

This product can make home maintenance and improvement less tiring and make your house an enjoyable place to stay.

But have you learned enough about this smart vacuum to buy it? Below are the most common questions about the Eufy HomeVac in case you still need to know more about it.

Product Overview

  • Power: 140 W
  • Battery: 2200 mAh
  • Runtime: 50 minutes (in the Eco mode), 22 minutes (in the Max mode)
  • Weight: 5.3 lbs
  • Dimensions: 10.3 x 8.7 x 43 in
  • Warranty: 15 months
  • Included in the box: the vacuum, power adapter, mounting accessories, and manuals

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it easy to maneuver?

Yes. If you can carry a gallon of milk, then you can operate this machine as well.

With a weight of only 5.3 pounds, it requires little effort from the user to lift, pull, push, and turn it. The flexible nozzle that comes with it also contributes to this great maneuverability thanks to the ability to swivel it 180 degrees.

Will it damage hardwood floors?

The motor rotates the brush constantly when cleaning. You need to be careful, or it will leave scratches on your hard floors.

The original charger that came in the box does not work anymore. Where can I find a replacement one?

You can go to the official website and order a unit for you. We recommend not using any unauthorized charger, which can cause serious problems.

What is the shipping weight?

Your package will weigh around 8.5 pounds.

How about the battery time?

The Eufy HomeVac Lightweight uses a 2200 mAh 28.8 V Li-ion battery, which is enough to power your vacuum up to 50 minutes in the standard eco mode. This cleaning mode is strong enough for most debris in your house and draws less energy. You can clean multiple rooms in a single cleaning session without worrying about recharging.

When you need a more powerful operational mode for picking up large debris or cleaning quickly before your guests arrive, the Max mode will effectively make your house clean in no time. But on the flip side, the battery capacity can only power this mode for up to 22 minutes.

Be careful about battery time if you don’t want to run out of power while cleaning just half of your room.

Does the battery fade over time?

No.

Because the battery technology is lithium-ion, it will not gradually drop the output power over time while cleaning.

I have charged the battery fully. But after a few minutes of running, the LED light and motor do not work anymore while the battery indicator flashes repeatedly. What can I do?

We recommend you contact customer support at Eufy. This may be because of a flawed product unit. You can ask Eufy to check and replace your vacuum if necessary. This will not cost you any money if the warranty is still valid.

Is the filter replaceable? I didn't see any information about it.

You can replace the filter by yourself if you want to.

If you buy this Eufy cordless stick vacuum from Amazon, it will list the suitable filter in the recommended product list. Amazon will ship this filter in the package if it is available.

My pivot does not work properly? What can I do?

This is another popular complaint about this vacuum.

Many customers have reported that the pivot connecting the brush head to the stick does not move correctly. This is due to the slim design of the HomeVac Lightweight.

If this is the case, you should try a workaround by bending the HomeVac or hit the pivot back to glide it to a proper angle.

Is the brush roller removable?

Yes, you can detach the roller completely.

How will I know that charging is complete?

Eufy equips the HomeVac Lightweight with a 4-bar indicator for the battery. The number of lit bars points out the current capacity of the battery. If you see all four bars, it has been fully charged.

This is a great feature that you will not always see on cordless stick vacuums.

My vacuum worked very well for two months after purchase. But since then, the cleaning performance has dropped. It does not pick up well anymore, especially large debris. The important thing is that the rollers are still spinning like normal. Any solution?

This is not normal. You should contact your seller or Eufy directly. When it comes to Eufy Homevac troubleshooting, you should not do it by yourself.

If this is a flawed unit, you can get a replacement vacuum for free if it's still under warranty. Eufy, or Anker in general, is well-known for its customer services, so don't worry too much.

My vacuum can't pick up large trash on the floor anymore. Any ideas?

You should have a look inside the vacuum to make sure that there is no blockage to the dirt bin. This is a common problem if you do not clean the vacuum itself regularly.

How big is the dirt bin?

The capacity is 0.9L.

Is it easy to empty the dirt bin?

Yes.

You will not get your hands dirty when emptying out the dirt since just a push of a button makes it dump the debris into the trash can directly. While the dust holder is not detachable, thanks to the lightweight design, this process still requires little effort.

Can I use it to clean my car?

Not really. The HomeVac Lightweight is very limited when it comes to car cleaning ability.

Conclusion

The strong points of the Eufy HomeVac Lightweight model are its suction power, filtration system, cyclonic technology, slim design, and lightweight feature.

These features combine together to make a cordless upright vacuum that can perform well. It can also provide a decent runtime unless you want a quick cleaning before your friends arrive. You can try the Eufy HomeVac Duo for a longer runtime.

The main issue is its build quality. Made mostly of plastic, it has some parts that can break after a few months. Please keep this in mind before you decide to purchase the Eufy HomeVac Lightweight, especially those who want a long-lasting product.

Motors have changed over the years. Filter Queen uses Ametek-Lamb motors but they have continually advanced over the decades. The hoses have gone from having a clip on power cord from the vacuum down the hose to the power nozzle to having hoses with electrical connections at each end and the stiffening coils double as electrical wires like Kenmore has had since, oh, 1958 or so. They are in my opinion wretchedly overpriced for what you get. Filter Queen claims their 99.98% filtration efficiency is "three times better than industry standard HEPA designs". This is a gross exaggeration. The US HEPA standard, based on DOE-STD-3020-2005 is "The filter shall exhibit a minimum efficiency of 99.97% when tested with an aerosol of 0.3 micrometer diameter" while simultaneously allowing at least 20 cubic feet per minute airflow with no more than 1.3 inches of water suction loss. This standard is designed to trap specific sized nuclear particles in facilities handing or manufacturing nuclear fuels, hence the standard originating with the US Department of Energy. A properly designed HEPA filter will trap 100% of particles larger and smaller than 0.3 micrometers in diameter. Fliter Queen filters are famous for clogging with fine dust, restricting suction and air flow greatly. Hey, you have 100% filtration when the filter is clogged solid! There are less restrictive European HEPA standards which is why you often see the words "True HEPA" on US market vacuums. That tells you the machine or vacuum bag meets the US DOE HEPA Standard. Also with a Filter Queen there is no dust bag. You have to motor housing off and set it somewhere, remove the filter and dump the can out like a shop vac. If you want a really good metal bodied vacuum look at Tristar or Miracle Mate.
