BISSELL 9595A Vacuum is best choice. It is light weight and suction is powerful. You can get this vacuum for $71.

Shark and Bissell are horribly cheap and have low quality plastic brushrolls. The Lime Green or Orange Kenmore canisters are much more powerful (measured 82 inches of water lift at the end of the hose, better than some thousand dollar or more European vacuums) and the power nozzle uses a good solid 14 inch wooden brush roll that will last a few years before needing replacement. Use the cloth HEPA Q dust bag and everything stays nice and clean, much nicer to use than anything bagless.

If you want a good vacuum cleaner—nothing fancy—and you don’t mind replacing it in five years, we recommend a bagless, plug-in upright vacuum. (We have a couple of recommendations in our guide to the best upright and canister vacuums.) A bagless upright vacuum that costs between $150 and $200 is a great fit for most American (and Canadian) homes, with any number of floors, any number of pets, and almost any kind of wood, tile, or carpeting. The best bagless uprights are about 80 percent as effective as the very strongest plug-in vacuums, for about 40 percent of the price. They’ll last much longer than the total cheapo models. Compared with cordless vacuums, they cost half as much, clean better, and can last at least twice as long (about five to seven years). They tend to be better designed than similarly priced canister vacuums, and are much more convenient than bagged vacuums, which also have recurring costs and don’t offer much upside at this price.

your best bet is to choose some vacuum from shark (NV501) or else bissell(symphony pet). these two companies are good under $200 dollars.

Buy a good used Aerus Lux or Electrolux USA vacuum from a reputable vacuum shop and go with that. Even a thirty year old Electrolux canister properly refurbished with a good power nozzle will out clean and out last anything new you can buy for $200. Bissell, Shark, Dyson (Diesoon) are all crap with low quality brittle plastics, poor filtration and plastic brush rolls that get hot and warp. Don't waste your money. A nicely refurbished Aerus or their predecessor Electrolux USA (not to be confused with their former Swedish parent the Electrolux Group which used to own Eureka and Sanitaire) will do a great job for you and given proper care probably last longer than any of us will.

As I did some research about the best brands of vacuums under 200 dollars. I saw that there are some good brands that you consider: Dyson, Roomba, Shark, Hoover, and BISSELL. Each has different features and functions. Some have very good prices just at $150, or $100. However, the price is not so important if you plan to put investment on quality one. Some can a bit higher than $200 such as $220, or $250. You may consider the top 10 here: 1. Oreck Commercial XL Commercial Upright Vacuum Cleaner, XL2100RHS – Best Vacuum under $200 2. Pure Clean Automatic PUCRC95 Robot Vacuum Cleaner – Best Robot Vacuum under $200 3. Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away Upright Vacuum, Red (NV501 – best vacuum under 200 for pets 4. Deik Vacuum Cleaner, 2 in 1 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner – Best upright vacuum under $200 5. Bissell 9595a Cleanview Bagless Vacuum with Onepass – best vacuum under $200 6. Bissell CleanView Bagless Upright Vacuum with OnePass Technology – Best Bagless Vacuum under 200 7. Hoover Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, BH50010– Best Cordless Vacuum under 200 Dollars 8. Shark Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum, Lavender (NV352) 9. Eureka Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum, 3670G – Corded – Best canister vacuum cleaner under $200 10. Hoover T-Series WindTunnel Rewind Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner UH70120 – Best Vacuum Under $200

The Oreck is somewhat good, low on power but at least it's a bagged vacuum and they sell parts for them. The rest are cheap junk. For $200 you can buy a bagged Kenmore canister on clearance and expect to last and clean well for 15 - 20 years given reasonable care and frequent regular bag and filter changes. Kenmore had great parts support and I can still buy brush rolls, brush roll motors and suction motors for a 1982 vintage Kenmore canister vacuum I inheritied. Bissell offers absolutely no parts support and Hoover is pretty limited. I have a Bissell Digipro canister and cannot even buy replacement HEPA filters or brush rolls for it. Nice machine but useless when you cannot even replace the filters of brush roll. Did you look at the Hoover Tempo Widepath upright? These routinely sell for under $100 on line with free shipping and are pretty reasonable bagged uprights. Hoover, Royal, Dirt Devil and Oreck are all owned by TTI of China now and they all share the same parts and come off the same Chinese assembly lines. Hoover and Oreck both sell one commercial upright that is still made in the US (same basic machine but with different badging). Royal sells the same vacuum as the Hoover Tempo in orange and charges upwards of $200 for the privilege of having the Royal name on it vs Hoover. Another good upright in your price range would be the Panasonic MC-UG223 or Panasonic MC-UG471. The former is the modern iteration of the revered Panasonic Jet Flo uprights from the late 1970s, a thoroughly proven and well regarded design. The latter is a modern update of the Jet Flo design with some additional features. Panasonic has always made better uprights than most and while no longer made in Japan or the US their best features continue to this day in these two machines.
