Hi hooverman,

I'd say it's a souped up commercial Royal upright.  Look at the outer bag and front wheels and the back whells as well.  The fork on the handle is also Royal and not Kirby.  Especially note the orange outer bag and orange power cord.  Strictly Royal and not Kirby.  (See following link.)

What I can't determine is how they hacked off the front end.  Nonetheless, the most important things is that  . . . this is not invention but innovation.

Very interesting study and article.  Thanks for posting.  Concur with you, Royal.  Concur too it is innovation and not invention.

What's interesting to me is that it appears the dirt sucked up is tested/analyzed/measured for the PAH levels, cancer producing toxins, before reaching the bag rather than after.  I would like to confirm that with more infomation and details on the apparati used in the pre-fan operation.

PS:  I used various color schemes in rebuilding metal vacuums.  Fortunately, lux blue and signal orange were not two.  I suspect the lux blue paint, in part, covers up the "hacking job" to lop off the front of the Royal, probably done by cutting with a welding torch which would have discolored the original buffed finished.

Carmine,
If you want a closer look at the 'apparati,' then take a look at James Dyson licensed technologies in the Fantom vacuums...the USGS took a page and/or a Fantom cyclone (pictured) from James Dyson's playbook.

The front axles bent, it needs a front end alignment.

Someone spent a lot of time and effort to create nothing thats practical,

Lets call it FRANKEN VAC.

This is a make work project,

You always provide an insightful perspective on the matter.  Having been conned for years by the Global Warming, now Climate Control [better pitch], I have my doubts and suspicions about these devices especially when humans, with vested interests [Read Al Gore] have to use them and analyze the results.

Hi Severus,

Thanks!  This is an odd but interesting device.  The following link will lead to another that will allow anyone interested to view a PDF of the machine's user manual.
