some type of powder/grain to clean dyson vacs.....

I was thinking....could you use maybe rice (smallest grain you could find) or maybe dry corn meal to suck up into a dyson regularly to clean out the insides of the cyclone thingies.......??????

Of course, you would have to do this before it was plugged, and make sure you had installed clean filters before doing this (and perhaps afterward too).......

just curious what the pro's out there might think about this......

by the way, both these methods work fantastically well for crystal goblets and decanters......just fantastic way to clean these things........

Best: -Windsor (Sebo) xp12 (so good I bought two) -Miele s7 (best I've ever used, but heavy) -(for stairs only) the Oreck XL Worst: -a Dyson (I gave it to a neighbor after about three months, just to get it out of the house)
do these new vacuums need surge protectors??

The new models s7 meile and sebo x units seem to have mini computers in them....

I was wondering.....do these units need (would benefit from) the use of a surge supressor...

I wonder how many failures of these units could be linked to surges while in use?????
