Santa must be getting his sleigh ready up there at the north pole.  I woke up a few days ago and found all that white stuff had landed on my driveway. Quite a few inches deep too.  So I took the oppurtunity to let the new 9.25 orange horse out of her stable (the garage).  Boy I was impressed.  I first let her stand out there and adjust to the outside temp before I let instinct kick in.   Gave her one pull and like angels from heaven that engine was singing as pretty as any choir.  In low gear I eased the beast into the snow and feed on mother natures snowflake buffet.  What a joy!!!   What power too.  Love that 200 degree chute rotation.  Just have to watch out for the neighbors so I don"t blow that snow on their driveway.  I guess thats where the deflector comes into play for being neighborly.    Its just that that snow looks so pretty flying high and far.  Anyways I love the machine.  Any reccomendations on oil?     Have a great Christmas or Festivus do not want to offend anyone and Fabulous New Year.

The 924DLE was priced at 1399 here as well.  Through some negotiating and active listening on my part I got him to go down 200 dollars from the floor price. Thanx to this site i never would of thought of negotiating for a snowblower.  They definetly do not seem interested in dropping price the dealers.  But once you get them to go down once they probably will go down a little more.  Just listen for ques and go in for the kill.  Salesmen and dealers are people too and everybody likes making a sale as long as everyone walks away happy.  Its fun.
Purchased the Ariens 924DLE model today

Bought my first snowblower today from a reputable dealer.   The ariens 924DLE model can't wait for the snow.  Thanx for the input.  Read the other threads and used the advice and knowledge.  Even in the negotiations of price.  I am pleased.  I will be mindful of maintenance and care and hopefully this workhorse will last 15-20 years.  Great website thanx again.
Advice between Ariens or Simplicity first time buyer
#4   Oct 20, 2007 6:26 pm
I am a first time buyer of a snowblower.  I know welcome to the modern-age lol.  I am having a tough time between the ariens or simplicity decision.  I live in Buffalo, N.Y.  and we do at times get hit with some hellish snowstorms.  Although the winters are getting milder for some reason when we get hit the snow hits hard.  i will be purchasing my first blower from a reputable dealer who deals with both machines puts them together and delivers.  The blower will be working on one driveway only.  shaped like a T on its side turned right.  Two car width length is 40 feet.  For the ariens blower I was looking at the 924DLE price 1399.00 or the 824E priced at 950.00.  The simplicity blower is L8526E priced at 999.92.    Looking for quality and long life no games.  Friends around here says Ariens is the way to go.  Then when I say Simplicity everyone seems unknowing.    Searching for some wisdom.
