Problem with a Craftsman 917252451 Lawn Tractor
#1   Jul 2, 2011 11:53 pm
I just bought it used off of Craigslist and it drove fine while at the seller's house. When I got it home and tried to take it off my trailer it wouldn't move. The engine starts fine, the blades can be engaged but none of the forward or reverse speeds work. So it runs and cuts but won't move. I jacked up the back wheels and when you spin one the other moves in the opposite direction. I'm assuming that this behavior is normal. However, I can't get the wheels to move in the same direction no matter what gears they're in. Is the transaxle shot all of a sudden? Are there any other tests I can perform to diagnose this?

Thanks in advance,

Dave
