In my opinion Miele is the best suited machine for your situation. The are hepa certified but do not require the hepa as a standard filter comes with the bags. The machines have a great warranty and are normally issue free.

Hi rlyoung,
Sound suppression is exactly right. I am a Miele dealer and that is all it is for. Won't hurt the machine to operate it without it. Happy Vacuuming!
