I am having trouble obtaining two small parts for my new Deluxe 30 with cast iron gear case.  I need to get this beast ready for snow - she's hungry!  I Have looked at a popular retailer online and twice within a week have been told they have to call Ariens, add it to the database and they'll call me back.  But they haven't.  I need the auger gear case fill screw and washer,  They are item numbers 06400020 and 07400110.  Does anyone know a good source?  Can I Call Ariens direct?

If you have an Ace Hardware near you.  Take the old bolt and washer there.  And I'll bet you can find a replacement in their hardware section.
It's probably a 6 or 8mm serrated flange bolt.  With a crush washer.  But you could also use a small neoprene washer in it's place for the time being.

jrtrebor Is right, I highly doubt that that plug is made specifically for Ariens. There are other plugs that will fit, the trick is to find the right size. Get a close diameter size and go shopping, for a few bucks you should be able to buy enough different sizes that one will fit.

With some fo those cast iron diffs, you can just use a galvanized (or not) pipe plug of appropriate size.  Cheap and readily available anywhere.

Thanks all.  Jack's was the place that told me they would update their database and call me - twice - but I never heard from them.  I was surprised given their high rating on google.  I called Ariens today and they directed me to a dealer local to them that was responsive.  This dealer said they'd ship today.  Hopefully all set assuming I don't screw up the machibe again...

The replacement filler screw will be superseded to the latest part (a concave rubberized sealing washer). The torque spec for this style washer is 80 in-lb (6.7 ft-lb). The rubberized washer seals at a lower torque accomodating more variability for those not using a torque wrench.
