Outdoor Power Equipment (Lawn Mowers, Snow Blowers, Chain Saws and more) Discussions

I'm looking at lawn tractors.  Some  choices are Kohler 30 hp air cooled, Kubota diesel 21 hp liquid cooled, Generac 33hp air cooled, Vanguard 31hp turbo diesel 3 cyl, Vanguard 31hp gas and Yanmar 21hp diesel. I'm looking for QUALITY.  Who makes the BEST ? Has any one ever had any problems with any of these engines? I want to blow snow and cut grass.

Kubota diesel engines are phenomenally reliable.  I've got an 850cc liquid cooled three cylinder diesel engine on a power plant at my camp with over 6000 hours on it.   In the 28 years I've owned it, it's had one valve adjustment, one fan belt replaced and about 50 oil changes.  Other than that, nothing.  

Yanmar and Vanguard engines are also known to be very good as well but I have no experience with them so I cannot personally comment on their reliability.
