Blowing through 40 feet of snow!
Original Message   Dec 30, 2010 3:19 pm
I couldn't believe these pictures of the snow in Japan I saw the other day , and today jalopnik put up a youtube video (at bottom) of how they blow that 40 feet of snow.  All it comes down to is a huge backhoe followed by a huge blower.

The video of them cleaning it up is at:

Pretty damn impressive, my 26" 250cc feels somewhat inadequate now.

Enjoy!

Very cool, I'd hate to have their fuel bill tho.

Amazing pictures.  I saw a couple videos of this kind of snow clearing.  Those machines move an incredible amount of snow at crazy distances, but it was still so awfully slow.

I wondered who makes the 40 foot drift cutters.  :)

Awesome pictures, and amazing work by those machines.

Thanks, Dan.

So, where's the machine that supposedly cleared the path?   It would need a chute 50 or 60 feet tall.  Something fishy about those pics.

So would I!  I've had vertical cuts in 4' walls collapse, I don't know how those things stay up if you put any snow on top of them.

Who the hell let all the morning people run things?
