Leaking float screw?
Original Message   Nov 19, 2008 6:37 pm
I have a leak that appears to be coming from the screw under the float on my snowblower. Ariens ST824

Does anyone know what I need to do to fix it?

Your problem could be one of two things.....

The gasget for the bowl nut/jet is bad (not likely)

...or the bowl (aluminum) has a pinhole rotted through...

Both easy fixes...  if that is what it is..

This is a Tecumseh engine on this model right?

Not sure what the motor is. It's a transplant.

But it appears to me that it leaks where the screw, with a spring on it, enters the bottom of the float bowl.

How about a couple picture?

There should also be a gasket type washer on that screw between the spring and the bottom of the float bowl.
