Ariens 924 8hp motor is racing ?
Original Message   Jan 1, 2008 7:00 pm
The 8hp Tecumseh engine on my 924 snowblower is racing even when I move the throttle lever to slow.  It also seems like the gas is overflowing out of the carb/float bowl.  Has anybody dealt with the same type of problem ?  Thank you for any feedback.  Good health to all in 2008 !!

Hard to say but if it's an older model, there should be a screw on the bottom of the carb that you can use to drain the carb as well as adjust the slow speed setting.  Try draining the carb float bowl  first.  Only an ounce or so to drain the float bowl.  Turn the screw in all the way then back it out in increments to get the slow speed running right.  If that doesn't help, you might have to pull the float bowl off and look for debris.  Run some Seafoam through your carb when you do get it running right.
