Generac pressure washer problems, one solution, airfilter??
Original Message   Sep 22, 2006 11:33 am
Generac 220,7.8 hp pressure washer, 2.7, 2,700 psi, 6 years old??

The problems are

safety nazi intrusion

poorly written manuals

engine RPM fluctuates...........Is the governor right ???

poor delivery of pressurized water     ........ I am working on this , and do need help

oil filter is Purolator 14476(replaces their70185) .......This is one solution

air filter is 78601(Generac no)

Problems one and two have successfully permeated all American products.... a crying shame...  .a political movement is necessary.

These are problems as they distract from the quality of the machine.

Poorly written manual   ...( I can live with this )

safety nazi agenda in the manual rather than good info..   (Thankfully  I have lived mostly in a better time)

Air filter ?    The original has been mutilated, the cover over the carb intake was out of position due to poor running ???

Running ?   Time to pull the carburetor ???

weak spray ?

Yesterdays reply never "took"..

GardenWeb was effective, this forum needs more active members...

Yesterday , I may have found a replacement air filter at Home Depot, and on sale !!

But it was old stock, the numbers did not match, but it still looked to be correct...

The problem is a delivery of about 0.8 to 0.9 gpm of water to the pressure washer which needs at least 2.7 gpm..

Is it any wonder.....?
