How old is this Ariens machine?

I have a 1028 Ariens. Serial 002513. Is it possible to extract the date of manufacture from the serial number?

is there a way to translate dates from model numbers? i asked at my local dealer an they has no idea about my 924044.

Sir, some model #'s were produced for many years.

If you call Ariens Customer Service they can tell you. That's how I found out our machine was a 1970.

My book shows the 924044 as being manufactured in 1978 & 1979. Engine was a Tec HM 100 159024C.

Goldfish - Can't help you. Too new for my lit. However ........... Ariens' site has a downloadable owners manual for your ST 1028 dated 9/97.
