Re: Old Old Old Craftsman Lawn Tractor Issues

the biggest trouble with old mowers is old gas in the carb. cleaning them is not very difficult. there has to be some kind of belt/tentioner/clutch on this machine! maybe the belt is to small and not on right?? you would always start them in nutral then push clutch and put it into the gear you want. They don't shift like a car you need to stop moving to change gears.

I have had this problem! Make shure all your batt cable conections are clean. Most importantly the ground cable where it hooks to the frame they get rusty and corroded. Next some people (maybe not you) buy the cheepest battery that is usually 180 cca. That may not be enough to turn over your engine. I go for the 280 cca or I think I just got a 320cca not more problems.

THANKS grassland does not carry parts anymore. Your link to Year-A-Round corp --THANK YOU I have been there before.
They bought the Jari products corp in 1968. The machines were made way before that I have a picture of the original Jari product factory and promo photos of the snow blower. Not much other information is out there!!!! I am still looking!!!

I live in saginaw michigan and have been aquiring jari mowers. I have 6 now and my oldest one is machine number 7775. I have very limited info on these and have restored one and others are on the way. I would like to purchase or share any information on any jari machines. I am also looking for a jari snow blower. Please feel free to contact me to share info thanks.
