Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon
Original Message   Apr 8, 2005 5:08 pm
Does anyone own a Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon?

Which engine, tranny?

Like it ....Hate it.... ?

I just move kids and an occasional dead deer so I don't need the Dodge Dakota. Seems like a nice truck though.

I could pobably get a new Dakota for the same price as a year old Colorado? That makes it a tough decision.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

She's a 3500 Vortec  five cylinder and the color is Superior Blue.

'05 Chevy Colorado

Interior pictures.

Try the links above. My truck looks like the one on the right and the interior is the same except that I have 5 on the floor.

I have'nt a clue on how to post pictures.

Nice truck.    It's something what they did with the back seat.

That shoud do Dan.

I don't know why manual transmissions in many vehicles are so hard to find. It seems like if you don't want the cookie cutter version most people want, you can't get it.

Now you need to pimp it up. Maybe some naked lady mud flaps, fat boy muffler, some spinners, new sound, lowering kit

Ok, maybe just a bed liner. And when you get old and your idea of a pimped up ride is a bed liner, fancy headlights might be in order.

Rob,

You're right about the cookie cutter. It's hard to find a manual transmission in anything but a stripped down base model. Even harder with the I-5 engine.

This Colorado has simple car type options that in most base cars are standard like; power windows, door locks and mirrors. In a truck it's all extra. I also got the autolocking differential.

I did'nt find this truck though...it found me. I was'nt looking for this one but I was intrigued with the options plus the manual tranny. The window sticker  claiming it will get 19 MPG in town was a winner with me. I had to stretch a bit to come up with a decent downpayment but the old Explorer was giving up the ghost quickly.

Being "Pimped" for me would be a bediner[the spray on would be "the bomb"], fog lights and step rails.

Dan,
That Cadillac look front end on Marshall's second picture is nice. How can you resist?

That's a nice color!!!  My wifes Tahoe Z71 is the same color.  I originally wanted her to get black, bought she sold me on it, and it really is a unique look.  Good call.

LOL, those are 2 wheelers, a 4X4 needs different equipment.  I couldn't find any 4X4 custom pics though.
