I recently purchased a 1998 year model Royal vacuum. I got it because they have a reputation of power suction/air flow and light weight, well, this one hasn't disappointed! It literally lifts the carpet....and the carpet looks great afterwards...full and standing up. I've learned that this has a 10amp drop in motor, which is loud...yep it is. This will last a lifetime though...no cheap plastic on it...metal!!! Large/wide wheels that EASILY roll over thick carpet and a long cord. Buying a used vacuum: clean it thoroughly! I used a air compressor to blow it out good, washed the outer bag by hand, and polished it
