Procare,

Thanks!!  That's what I kinda thought.  I'm more knowledgeable on the older Canadian Lux motors than the US ones.

late model G, and 1205 arms will interchange, the G;s with the 8mm lower housings and 1205 ' use the same shafts.

Mostly found on factory rebuilts, look for the refurbed tagged machines that  were refurbished, assembled, and warranteed by  ELECTROLUX,

Mole,

When the rebuilts came out they changed the fields and carbon brushes to make it compatible to work in motor housing. You can't just take one armature and put it in another motor without having the correct fields.

Procare,

As long as the field has the fast on terminals,it will fit you can also change the carbon holders,

I agree this job is not for the back yard mechanic,But I have been sucessful at doing this swap. The field sizes are more critcal with the modular motors, Also the armatures are color coded.

A G with its original motor is the same motor used in 1205 & early Golden Jubilee.  However, later Golden Jubilees & newer motor parts aren't interchangeable.
