Repeated problem with compressor pump

purchased this compressor to replace a 30 year old worn out compressor of another brand.

WHEN its running compressor does a satisfactory job though after 10 or 12 hours of run time, which is 3 to 4 months for me it continually blows the valve plate gasket causing compressor to pump up very slowly and suck oil up the crankcase vent into the affected cylinder.
Sears has replaced gaskets twice, replaced the entire pump once, and at 13 months, (a month out of warrantee) gasket has blown again.
Devilbliss is now working with me on this problem and has replaced the pump once again though at this point im not hopeful this will be a solution.

Fortunately so far Devilbliss is being very helpful so far and has indicated if the problem persists they would consider replacing the entire compressor.
They are offering high quality customer service at least for an existing design problem, though until the problem is solved i'd not recommend this tool.

Date Purchased: 4/2005
Price Paid: $600
Recommend: No
Pros:
quiet, reasonable recovery rate controls fairly well located

Cons:
feet on this compressor could be about 2 inches taller allowing for better access to tank drain valve. and tank drain valve is a poor design, when opened drains out on floor with no clearance to get a container under it to catch condensation drainage

replacement of valve plate gasket is a continuing problem as it has been replaced 3 times, as well as two (2) complete pump replacements and the problem persists, indicating a problem with gasket design or material.
