MTD 4.5HP snowblower not getting fuel
#1   Dec 20, 2007 11:02 pm
Hello all, I was wondering if someone has had a similar problem to mine.

I have a MTD snowblower that we haven't used in a few years. I did a few tests to narrow down the source of the problem.

Replaced the old gas with fresh gas, took the spark plug out and cleaned it, test spark plug (it sparks), put a couple of squirts of gasoline and oil mixture directly into the cylinder and it started up right away but ran for a few seconds.

I figured that it was a problem with the carb (tecumseh) so i took it off. But i have no idea where to start to clean it.  Some people have said that I have to blow air into it?
