Bolens Snowblower Throwing Belts

I have an older Bolens snow blower and I'm trying to get it working properly. The engine and electric start work great but I'm having problems when I engage the drive, the wheels will turn in the first couple of gears fine but whenever I engage reverse or 4th gear the drive belt ( the back one closest to the engine) jumps off its pulley. I can't find a manual for this beast, so if anyone has any ideas about it I'd love to hear from you.

i just recently bought a used Bolens 1025c snow blower and I'm trying to get it working properly.
