Vacuuman's last
2nd weekend in June - Vacuum collectors convention.
#1   Jan 5, 2011 4:58 pm
This June, on the second weekend there will be a vacuum collectors convention in St. James MO. Some highlights of the gathering will be a tour of the Tacony (Riccar/Simplicity) vacuum cleaner factory, a day at the museum and a scientific cleaning contest. Everyone is encouraged to bring vacuums, and if you have any vacuums you'd like to either donate to the museum, or put on loan for display bring those along as well. Rooms are available at a group rate at the Days Inn in St James.

I'll have to see what its like when I get it, but mine is a BP08, so it may be a little different. As for serious use, I still feel the Rainbow is the best. I also really only care to use separator style water filter vacuums, the baffle ones tend to be harder to clean and something like moving it too quick and splash the water around too much, or tip it over the water goes into the motor, with a separator type, the water stays out of the motor as long as the machine is on.

Well, based on what you said about the separator I just bought one. Would you say it was worth the $400 it cost? And whats the suction like?

Well, I know I'm late in posting this, but back in Sept. I was at the museum, and took com pictures. http://www.flickr.com/photos/16134441@N06/sets/72157622244348793/ Theres really a lot to see, and the way its set up is very interesting, each vacuum in a section that is set up the way it might look at the time the vacuums were new. I definitely recommend it for anyone that likes vacuums, as theres something for everyone, and you'll see vacuums you've never seen before.
