Need new snowblower.
Original Message   Dec 2, 2004 7:31 pm
Hi everyone. My wife is sick and tired of removing snow with a coal shovel. She is a good woman, but she is getting close too 90 years old...and I have decided that it is time too invest in a "snowthrower". We live on fixed income...and can afford too spend possibly $65-$70 on a new machine. We live in Newfoundland, Canada..and our average snowfall is about 80 foot per year. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mr Buttlint, Being a fellow Canadian from the land of perpetual ice and snow, I feel your pain. I thought 80 feet was the typical daily snowfall, not the yearly average. Live and learn. May I suggest you get a younger wife. One with more energy. There are certain side benefits to this approach, not the least being that she can handle a coal shovel and other wifey duties much better. Besides a nice 25 year old will look great at the office parties. Other men will look up to you as a real studly sort of guy. A win-win situation.

Nibbler,, My thinking would be going the other way. I think it would be easier to find a $60 snowblower at the garage sale run by the soon-to-be ex-wife of the man out shopping for that younger wife!! This based on part life-experience and part common-sense! Believe me, no one ever changed wives for $60! LOL!

Don't just throw the 90 year old wife out,  Trade her in for three 30 year olds.  One to shovel the snow and one to cook,  and then there is one left.  you'll just have to find somethin for her to do so she won't feel left out.

60 bucks,  Had to be a jacobsen snowburst on e-bay.

As long as you didn't go south on us and trade in the wife for a cabana blower boy, I don't care what you ended up with.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yes married, and another female in the house, Daughter away at school.  only reason I mentioned that is when she is away 9 monts of the year, sure I miss her, but there is noticably less hassles with only one female in the house.  Bummer when they get in groups .LOL J/K

Well guys,
I think you were right!
The old gal just couldnt move the snow like she used too.
I loved her dearly...But I decided it was time too trade her in.
So I took her down too St. Johns and made a trade with old Rufus Macallister.
Seems he had these 3 daughters that just werent worth a lick to himself....
They couldnt cook...couldnt clean...and and none of lads in town wanted anything too do with a woman that couldn't gut a moose all right and proper. And thats for sure!

So we made us a deal....I figgered the girls all had good strong backs...and all they needed was someone too lead them in the right direction....and I knew I was just the man for the job.

Heck...Rufus even sweetened the deal with some cash....I got me enough too buy me a new suit of clothes and even spent some time down in Jamaica...freshening up my tan!

Hey 'lint old buddy, old pal, old friend. After a hard day of working in the shop, I'm sure the last thing a mechanic wants to do is go home and work on his own OPE. So, I'll tell you what old friend, how's about I come over and do the necessary maintenance on your new snowthrowers. Number three I might leave a while longer, as it looks like it is about to morph into a different species.
