Troy-Bilt chainsaws?
Original Message   Feb 15, 2005 12:53 pm
Anyone know who is building chainsaws under the Troy-Bilt name for MTD? Are they making their own?

Just saw my first Troybilt saw...........

Not just Chinese, but Taiwanese!

My Asian geography was never very good!  Hell, I thought Taiwan was an independent country!

Taiwan is not part of China.

They have been making superior electronics for years.

Spent a year there, 1970-1971. Very modern and very well educated!

There saws should be very good, unless MTD made them lower their standards!

Taiwan is a Republic of China, although they are somewhat independant from the mainland.  That is why you can see "Taiwan ROC" on some of their products.  China sees the financial desire to keep them under their control, although Taiwan would like to be independent.  They are very big in semiconductor manufacturing in their Science and Technology park near Tsin Chui.
