Ariens hydraulic drive

How good are Ariens hydraulic drive units? I like the features of the pro track 28 as well as the price over a Honda. I whould like to get away from the old friction disk drive. I hear the Ariens hydro units were weak. I do not want a drive failure in a snow storm.
