Ariens 1128LE
Original Message   Feb 6, 2005 3:25 pm

I have a friend, did not know that he has a Ariens 1128LE blower(bought new October 2003)  till today.

My question is, since he does not have a computer, does his model need the Chute Mod and or the R3 upgrade?

Yes, you will need the Baffle kit, it affected most models from 8HP 24" and up.

You shouldnt need the R-3. From reading posts and memory, it was basically the 824 Classics that needed the upgrade. The 1128 actually used Some of the Pro series drive components. Just not the Differntial.

Does it look like this? See the little strengthing bend the length of the chute? And how the chute sticks out beyond the strengthing crease? The origional THF chute was much less deep. Your friends should look like Franks.

      MM, Thanks!!

     Rob, Thanks!

He lives in Wilmington, Delaware, so I can not see it.

Also, can not ask him as he is on the way to his daughters home in North Carolina.

Bought mine (same model) In Oct of 2003 also. Yes he is entitled to and NEEDS the chute modification. As far as I know he will not need the R3 upgrade.

If his six digit model # starts with 924___ (which I am almost certain it does) then he does not have a drive system that in any way needs to be concerned with r3 upgrade.

agree with Ben07. I think the 1128LE is model # 924121 and the 11528LE is 924125.
