engine Question
Original Message   Mar 13, 2012 8:08 pm
I have a Tecumseh SK80 on my blower. I here a Subaru sk21 will peak at 4000 rpm-7HP great if I had one, my impeller speed will be faster. My Tecumseh rating is 3600rpm 8hp I here from you guys that Flat heads do not put out as much torque as a OHV engines. That said, will the Subaru outperform the Tecumseh? If I increase the Tecumseh rpm to 4000 will the Tecumseh have to much stress.I here increasing rpm will increase HP. What about torque? It runs good I don't want it to destroy itself due to over revving. I have know idea how many rpms this engine can take before it starts destroying itself? Or should I just get a Subaru? I wish Subaru had a bigger snow engine than 7 HP.
