I would not want to have one of these "versatile" and transformable machines as a walk behind, too heavy and c u mbersome to handle.  It looks like over 6 foot long and 450 lbs or more.

What a monster!

"If you have more miles on your snow blower than your car, you live in New England."  "If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching, you live in New England."

I agree - that's a big platform to manuever and appears to be very unwieldy. I guess if you were clearing long straight runs it might not be too bad but at that point, why not go for a tractor with a snowblower attachment. You'd better make sure you eat your Wheaties before taking that beast out for big snow clearing session and have plenty of ibuprofen for when your done... Got to wonder if that's the reason the owner is selling it?

True, but it is probably dual hydro.  Get a sulky and go for a ride :)

Wonder how well it works? From the photo on the DR web page

it looks like a giant single stage. I don't see any impeller!

I don't like that it's so long, people complain about turning conventional blowers as it is. More weight is always good - except when it's off. Single stage means it will probably pump slush rather well. If that was shorter it would be really nice.

Who the hell let all the morning people run things?

My father in law has one. The engine has performed well, but the chain case has been an issue. The original sprockets wore down after one winters use and were replaced with sturdier ones. The chain was replaced as well because it kept slipping and was damaged in one of the slip offs. As to function, his driveway is long and flat and at his age he said it handles pretty well.
