The Mantis for years had a electric motor or a Gas engine, The engines that Mantis bought were from Echo Corp...

Echo started to make their own unit for thier dealers a few years ago.. Last I saw the Enigines are the same (except color and plastics / maybe carb)... But the gear boxes for the tillers are made my each's own company, both are great units.
