Tire Chains on My Ariens Snowblower?
Original Message   Nov 22, 2010 11:08 am
The deep lug tires on my Ariens Pro 28 look like they'll crawl through the snow pretty well but should I buy a set of tire chains?

Try out the tires on snow and see how it performs.  Modern snow tires are very soft, compliant to surface irregularities, and have great traction.  Adding chains on modern snow threads might reduce it's effectiveness.

On pure snow you'll be fine, but if there's any ice under it, chains or studs make a big difference.

Who the hell let all the morning people run things?
