Troy-bilt snowblower impeller works but auger stopped.

Was in heavy snow, auger now does not rotate but impeller working well.  Shear pins are fine.

I hope the shear pins are actually sheared and just hanging in the holes due to friction since if they are fine then the auger gears are probably broken.

With the engine off, spark plug disconnected and a 2x4 down the chute, blocking the impeller try undoing the shear pins. Hopefully they will fall apart and you can replace them.

If instead it is the auger gear box then I can't help, I've never had to fix one.
