how to remove choke control from Briggs&Stratton 1100 series
Original Message   Feb 16, 2009 7:59 am
My MTD E640 F snow thrower stopped working. I checked and replaced oil. I checked the fuel. I would like to check the spark plug. Therefore have to remove the snow hood. The user guide I have, shows the B&S Power Built Snow motor and the B&S Intek Snow motor, not the Briggs & Stratton motor which is mounted on my snow thrower: I have to remove the choke control, but can not figure out how. It has not a detachable shaft as in the Intek Snow. The illustrations do not correspondent. The Briggs & Stratton label on my snow thrower says: Family 7 BSXS.2492SW  277152. The MTD E640F has a 8,5 hp - 250 cc B&S motor. 31AV6WHF678 - AJ087T50116. We are having quite a bit of snow here, so it would be great if you guys could help out.

Thanks! Peter
