Bought Husqvarna 10527SBE today
Original Message   Dec 1, 2007 1:41 pm
It is quite a story. After reading this website for a week (thanks to all of you guys), I decided to buy a Simplicity model. Despite the number of dealers are listed in my area, noone actually carried this brand. Instead, Husky was found at one place. In fact, I love it right the way. But, since not too much reviews are available for Husky snowblowers, and the ones I found, was not 100% positive (however, they all were 2004-2005 reviews), I decided not to take a chance, and go for the Toro 11128OXE, especially because the dealer is sitting in my village. I almost sealed the deal today (they even loaded a truck with that beast), but.... I am a very tall guy (6 and 6), so I found myself a bit not comfortable behind the Toro. Remembering my feelings bihind the Husky , I rushed to see it again and ... purchased.

These are advantages as I see them of the Husky 10527 over Toro 1128:

1. Overall design is more compact (cute?) then Toro's

2. Nice looking build-in (not attached aside) halogen lamp

3. Bearings all around instead of bushings.

4. Mostly all steel construction

5. Hand warmers

6. Handle's hight is right for me.

7. Price: 1499 versus 1960 for Toro

Last two things were the decision makers.

What I lost? Joistick (the least I care of); OHV engine (both are Tecumseh engines); possible throwing distance will not be so spectacular, but the dealer assured me that his beast will overthrow a garage easily; uncompromised reputation of Toro's snowblowers - but that is something that will come along with years of flawless usage. Hopefully Husky will last enough.

Tomorrow, when it will be delivered, I will give a first real try, then a big winter storm is coming on Monday. Will see what happens.
