Toro 826 starter and maintenance - operating questions
Original Message   Jan 9, 2005 11:47 pm
i have the following questions. (where are the tekkies):

A)recoil starter:

the recoil starter engages 1 out of 10 times. Am guessing its some sort of gear. looked at the exploded view on the toro web site. Any idea of what part i should order???

B) synthetic oil?

still recommending synthetic oil for thei 27 yr old?

C)gear case oil.

the manual says sae 90 ep transmission oil.

is that the same as 80w 90 gear oil?

D)if gear oil is what i need should i go synthetic? its only 3 oz. so a quart will last.

E)lubrication: the manual says use #2 gease and oil and then has arrows. some arrows are black...some white. does the color signify oil vs grease?

f) when blowing should the thrttle always be at full blast?

g) the manual says to set the timing @ 1750 rpm. Is that a timing light issue??

Thanx
