Honda HS1132
Original Message   Mar 27, 2007 5:00 pm
Does anyone have a Honda HS1132 Track Drive Snowthrower?  If so can you give any input on how you like it or don't like it. Also is the upgrade for the electric start really worth, every Honda engine I have ever owned seemed to start fairly easy. Thanks

I don't have HS1132, but I've had HS928 for 3 seasons.  My driveway is long (250'+) and steep (~12%), not quite 2 car length wide.
Trackdrive is great, hydrostatic gear is even more awesome.  It can be a bear to turn it in tight corners, however.
Unless the area you clear is very straight and don't have tight corners, I'd get 928 instead.  Keep in mind that, even with trackdrive,
your machine can slip depending on the snow condition and the down/uphill direction, and you may have to give it more than a nudge.
My drive is curved as well, and I'm constantly steering it.  I'm never cold while blowing snow.  I actually sweat even in cold weather
(in New England).

Haven't had to use electric start, but I keep it in the garage.  I got it for peace of mind, and not regretting.  It's so expensive,
just another drop in the bucket.

Tell us more about the area you need to clear.  Commercial/residential, your location, steepness, length, width, etc.
