Manual needed for Sears 536.918100 Craftsman Snow Blower
Original Message   Oct 29, 2006 2:00 pm
I recently purchased a used Sears 536.918100 Snow Blower.  I am looking to get a copy of the manual.  They are not available anymore through Sears.  Does anyone have a manual that I could have/purchase/copy?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Major

I saw that you had offered the guy Mark a manual you had for model no 536.918200. I am looking the manual for that model no. 536.918200. If it's still available please contact me.

Hi Marty,

Just to know, Someone indicated before in Tecumseh Engine discussion topic that Sears Craftman Snow Throwers are being built by Murry. And I just foundout from you that Briggs and Stratton bought Murry.

Why murry would use Tecumseh engines ? (I think Tecumseh and B & S probably compititors). Just a curious ! May be speciality ?

The only NEW Murray/Sears products you see in the stores are leftover stock from 2004/2005. They will carry a Sears 536.xxxxxx model number on the ID tag. Most true 2006 Sears snowblowers are built by AYP/Husqvarna (917 prefix model numbers) or MTD (247 or 316 prefix model numbers). So having said that, you MIGHT see 2006 Sears snowblowers with Tecumsehs, but note they will be AYP or MTD made machines, not Murrays. Murray used Tecumseh exclusively BEFORE Briggs & Stratton bought them out. Briggs will be supplying Murray parts now, but currently there are LONG wait times to obtain parts. This IS improving though. As for the Murray name being used on NEW OPE equipment, that remains to be seen. If they DO use the Murray name, you can rest assured that B&S powerplants will be powering the Murray machines. Confused? I am!

I have a model 536.918700 model, which is also an AMF (Murray) type. I am looking for belt information on auger drive. It has a ribbed belt, but I don't see any ribbing on the pulley. Anyway my problem is augers won't take any load, but impellar is turning along with impellar shaft to auger (2 sections,  and not shear pins on augers). I am pretty sure it must be belt, being an old machine I bought this year. Suggestions and manual?

Here is the manual.  They list 1 of the 2 belts, but don't say the size.  Might be better to just get a generic replacement.
