MTD With 14.5 Briggs & Stratton
Original Message   Jun 26, 2006 6:33 pm
I have a 14.5 hp Briggs that broke a valve.  I have the replacement parts, found them on E-Bay, and I am ready for reassembly.   Does anyone have info on setting the valves, and torque specs., and tightening sequence for the head bolts?  Is their any watch outs when putting this engine back together?

Thanks for any help!!!

exhaust setting is 0.018 inch and your intake is 0.008 inch.. just check your valve seats for cracks ,,looseness,, wear and tear,, My concern is why did your valve broke ? ?

too many to keep track of
