Proper way to balance a blade?
Original Message   May 14, 2006 8:18 pm
I have read a few ways to balance them after sharpening. I tried the dowel method where you put the blade hole in a dowel and see if one side sticks up more than the other, compared to a surface like a floor or table. It seemed to work ok, but the blade was easily coaxed, which meant that if I was to tilt the blade up a bit on one side, it would stay in that position as well, so this test didn't reveal much to myself at all.

Is there any other methods that are good to follow and accurate?
