International Cub Cadet 125
Original Message   Apr 5, 2006 8:13 am
I'm new to your group, I am impressed with the knowledge of the people here, good job!  I've recently purchased my second cub cadet and can only hope it gives me as many years of service as my old one has. I need some help though. When it comes to mowers I'm not very smart. I have a 1968 or 1969 cub cadet 125, that is in pretty good shape. It still runs and mows. It is a user, not a show piece. Can anyone tell me roughly how much something like that is worth?  Thank you for your help.

Welcome Terryrichey! $300 sounds about right if: the starter/generator works 100%, there are no wiring problems, steering has minimal slop, and cutting deck spindles & deck are in good shape. They are fantastic tractors - I used to have a 125 & still kick myself for selling it.

Mech12 - what is the name of this "blue book"? I'm very interested in obtaining something of sorts. Thanks!

Thanks guys, Everything on the mower works except the charging system. I had the starter/generator rebuilt 2 years ago, so I'm inclined to think it might be the voltage regulator. I just haven't had time to check it out yet. Thanks again for the info.

Terryrichey - heres a link for the 125's electrical schematic: http://www.ihregistry.com/ref/Diagrams/W18.pdf Make sure you have 12 volts at the BATT connection on the regulator or you will have a no charge condition - the wire runs from the ammeter to the BATT terminal on the regulator. Hope that helps you some...

Mech12 - MUCH thanks for the info!

That's great info on the charging system, I'll try to track it down this weekend. Again thank you for your help. So far this has by far been the most supportive group I've found.
