Shipping a used chain saw
Original Message   Sep 1, 2005 1:01 pm
I am trying to ship a used chain saw.  The UPS store says that there can be no smell of fuel.  So how do I go about removing the smell or is there another shipper that I can use.

Thanks Mike

I'm no expert, but I'd drain all fuel, put a piece of plastic wrap under the fuel cap, clean it up the best I could, then wrap it in a few plastic bags.

I wrapped it up in a couple plastic bags, followed by newspaper and taped the outside.  Worked perfectly.

UPS shipped it ground.  If I ever have to do that again, I'll throw an air freshner in their.  Their was no gas and the spark plug removed.  I don't know what else I could do.
