Thanks to all who responed to my post about power washers. I normally don't buy on impulse.  I usually research the hell out of everything untill I get a headache from it all.  Anyway, Saturday afternoon we were at Lowes for something or other, and saw they had some power washers.  Ended up buying a Troy Built 2200 psi, 2.2 gpm for $275.  It should be enough for what I need (as long as it works).  I still think an electric would have been perfect, but after two failed units, I was afraid to go down that road again.  I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a gas unit because it won't get used much.  $275 isn't bad (as long as it works). It's too cold and windy today to try it out.  I hope I don't regret my impulse purchase.

I can't tell what pump it is.  Since they're not using a brand name in their literature, I'm guessing it's not one of the better name brands. I see that it's made by Briggs & Stratton Power Products which is licensed to use the Troy-Bilt name.
