Bummer

Well, it has a 2 year warranty, it just that after two years you're on your own. And for 200 bucks, I don't know if I would want to be on my own with an MTD.

 Marshall,

I have 2 MTD lawnmowers, 1 is at least 8 years, the other 15 years old.

They all work well, start up first pull, or 2 or 3 turn overs with electric start!!

I get very upset with the Rolls Royce folks on this board who always bad mouth MTD!

Ariens has had a lot of problems, but who bad mouths them!!!

Fred, sorry to get you red faced. Glad you have had good luck with your MTD's. Who's had bad luck with Ariens mowers Fred? I didn't know Ariens made backpack blowers?

Not bad mouthing MTD.  I believe the offer a lot of value for the money.  I was just hoping it was a more robust machine in Craftsman clothing...offereng more of a hidden bargain.

I have some Sears coupons at home and if one is good enough, I may just go ahead and buy the blower.  I don't need a commercial unit and a Stihl, Echo, Redmax, etc. would cost at least $100 more.  I also like the idea of a full crank engine which isn't found on McCullough or Homelite (I have a Deere (Homelite) string trimmer).  I have plenty of inexpensive tools that do their job well and have lasted.

Fred, I believe that the older MTD's were built better than today models.  I have an MTD rider that has no deck, and I customized it electrically.  The older MTD's were also very simple to work on.

the blower is indeed an MTD product but mtd owns  mc culloch they are built in tiawan or china.

that being said it is a pretty good blower for the price.

i have worked on some of there stuff and it was built a lot better than i was expecting.

anytime you get a whole crank you get a pretty good machine.

only problems i have seen were bad gas related carb troubles.
