Re: husqvana snow blowers

I have a Poulan PR624ES which is basically a black version of the Husqvarna's (the shipping crate only said Husqvarna on it).  The reason that I chose it was purely financial.  I wanted to get an Ariens but they were out of my range.  For the price that I was looking at this was by far the best built one.  One of the guys that I work with has a Poulan and had nothing bad to say about it.  I have used mine in two early storms this year and have no complaints.

LCT Engines

I thought that I would start a thread with information on the LCT engine. Since these engines starting showup in place of the Temcumseh Snow King it would be nice to have a reference thread. Here are some links with information:

http://www.lctusa.com/

http://www.j-thomas.com/Catalog/164_lct_engines.html

http://www.parsonsracingengines.com/page/lct%20racing%20engines

The Parsons Racing site also shows that some of the parts on the 208 cc engine are interchangable with Honda GX200.

There are two base versions for LCT: 208 cc and 414 cc
The 208 cc is the one used for snowblowers. It is also referred to as the StormForce. My experience with the engine is on a Poulan snowblower. I'll post more on how it works out later in the season (it's only snowed twice so far in Denver).

The snowblower and the engine should give you years of service if you do the standard maintenance. Keep us updated on how it works for you.

I'll start a new thread on the LCT engine so that this one doesn't get highjacked.

Sorry to make assumptions when I said it appeared to be a MTD line of machine and LCT engine. The LCT is a Honda knockoff and I didn't want to imply that it is of low quality (I have one on my blower). I did want to point out the image and specs are the same as some MTD models. If it is a knock off, then the question of reliability should be addressed.

They are same as the MTD, Fartmachines, (insert cheap brand name)...

The 24" does appear to have a metal chute and LCT engine.
