Older Deere 726 differential locked up

Just got an older John Deere 726. Had to replace the governor spring and now runs like a champ. The issue now is the locking wheels. I can turn the "adjuster" on the left wheel, but it has no effect on the other. Both wheels turn together and I would prefer to have one free-wheel to make it easier to handle. I can see the differential rotating under the machine as it travels, but how can I free it up?
